In a first outing since March 2020 The Fat Stags and our teammates from Old Isleworthians took the field for a friendly against perennial opponents Grasshoppers. A paucity of match practice was much in evidence and there was a lack of cohesion in attack and communication in defence.

That being said there were some strong showings from Scott Gourley at fly half, Chris Couling in the centres and impressive contributions from Myke Parrot and Ben Morrison across the park; the team was enthusiastically led by indefatigable warhorse Splash Davies.

The score did not reflect a largely competitive game but the greatest success of the night was to be back playing rugby under lights on a Friday night.

Special mention to Fat Stags debutants Mike 'None Shall Pass' Graham; Andrew 'Face Tackle' Greer; Dan 'Magic Legs' Ayling; and Steve 'Utility' Alford.
