The Fat Stags / Old Is had a useful run out at the plush new home of Grasshoppers; it was great to see so many players turn out and blow off some cobwebs. Grasshoppers proved to be a well drilled team with a very effective scrum and maul, and some dangerous runners made the most of a fast and very big 3G pitch. The Stags did start to find some cohesion in the second half and ran in the try of the game after a well worked move scored by Simon Daws and orchestrated by Scott Gourley who had a controlled game at fly half. A strong performance from Banger Bunce in the front row, some penetrative running from Chris Coulling in the centres and a noteworthy debut from Hugh Parsons at scrum half were the other highlights of the night.
