A spirited Fat Stags team put in a resilient display against Ealing Exiles under lights on their 4G pitch. With a bare 15 players and several debutants and returnees it was always going to be a challenging night, made more so when the opposition turned up in numbers and proved to be surprisingly young. After conceding three early tries to some seriously quick outside backs Teddington tightened up their defence and in a close second half both sides scored one try apiece. Despite the loss it was an enormously enjoyable game played in good spirit and it was appreciated when Ealing loaned us some of their teenagers after injuries started to mount.
Props go to Paul Moore for leaving plenty of blood on the immaculate plastic pitch; to Tom Pugh and Barry Spencer on making impressive debuts; to Brooksy for managing to get so many players out and creating a viable team.
