INFORMATION FOR ALL VISITORS

1. General Information
Due to the size of this festival, we will be playing over two sites. U7, U8, U9 and U11’s are playing at Richmond Athletic Ground while the U10’s are on Old Deer Park (nearby to the A316). Please do not get confused the other Old Deer Park (where Richmond Cricket Club and London Welsh are based).

2. Timing and punctuality
Kick-off for the first game will be at 9.40 a.m. and there will be a referee briefing at 9.15am that ALL clubs MUST attend. Briefing will be held at the London Scottish control tent for the respective age group near the age group pitches. Everyone enjoys it more when tournaments run to time, so please ensure to arrive prompt and allow time for players to warm up and be ready for the first matches. Strict time-keeping is key and we ask all teams, parents and coaches to help us run to time so all teams get to play their full quota of matches. We know it is an early start, especially for those coming some distance, however we would like to get all matches played as quickly as possible to ensure there is minimal standing around.

3. Parking
There is extremely limited parking at the ground with slow entry and exit. With several hundred cars turning up we advise to car share wherever possible or use public transport. The ground is only 10 minutes walk from Richmond rail station. The earliest arrivals at the ground will be able to park in the limited parking on site for a fee of £5. Cars parked at the ground will find they have a slow exit at the end of the morning so please be patient. We recommend the use of the pay and display car parks adjacent to and on the opposite side of the A316 from the club. “Pools on the Park” (Postcode TW9 2SF) and Old Deer Park (Postcode TW9 2RA) which are a 5 minute walk from the grounds across the metal footbridge over the A316. Please see example parking tariffs below. Please allow plenty of time to park, walk to the ground, locate your pitch and get ready. Better still, get the train to Richmond station and walk the 5 minutes to the ground!

5. Pitch layout
We will be using pitches on both Old Deer Park and Richmond Athletic Ground. Pitch allocation is as follows and shown on the map below.

6. Catering
There is a cafe in the clubhouse where coffee, food and teas can be bought. The bars will of course be open after the tournament. Please stay and join us for some food or a drink afterwards; we are really aiming for a sociable and fun morning both off and on the pitch. You will find this is extremely concentrated rugby – a great opportunity for parents, grandparents etc to see the kids play full-on rugby without standing around for hours between games.
There will also be a London Scottish Parents homemade bake stand at both Richmond Athletic and Old Deer Park. Our parents really know how to bake, so please do enjoy!

7. Professional Coaching Sessions from London Scottish 1st XV Professional Squad
The London Scottish professional players form the 1st XV will be running a series of “Skills Sessions” throughout the morning at Richmond Athletic Ground.
