Teddington 1st XV bounced back from a disappointing defeat last week, to put in a strong performance when they visited Effingham & Leatherhead on Saturday.
A powerful scrum and resolute defence were the foundations in an impressive win. A brace of tries from Matt POOLE, a try from Mike COX and a penalty try secured the bonus point victory. The superb defensive effort was spearheaded by the Antlers Man of the Match Rory MERCER who led the line and won many a turnover. The 1st XV now look forward to the visit of Kingston RFC next Saturday in what should be a cracking local derby. Effingham & Leatherhead 7 Teddington 26
The 2nd XV were equally impressive in their victory at home to Sutton & Epsom Extra B's. It was an evenly contested battle throughout with the win only secured in the final minutes thanks to a try by Jono VENTER. The other try scorers were Jeremy GOODALL, Jasper GIBB and Jason BANNISTER with a man of the match performance by scrum half Jack DICKSON. Teddington 31 Sutton & Epsom Extra B's 19
A great weekend for the Antlers and a real boost as we prepare for next weekend and the season beyond.
