A spirited performance by a youthful Teddington 1st XV is not enough to deny a well drilled and experienced Priorians outfit

With an average age of under 23 (The inclusion of Old Man Sam Seward helping push this up from 21)this was probably the youngest 1st XV the club have ever put out. So although the vital statistics show an 8 tries to zip loss other statistics reveal that the game was extremely well contested and territorially Even Steven. The Teddington youngsters more than held their own in the set pieces and the possession statistics probably leaned in our favour.

The Priorians defence was well organised and dynamic and many of our promising moves were nipped in the bud or slowly strangled. So in conclusion this was a great learning experience for many of our players who were pulling oin a 1st XV shirt for the first time. The main lesson learned was that you have to convert pressure and territory into points. And the most heart warming part of the day? There is plenty of talent being nutured in our youth teams, who given a steady introduction at the right time to senior rugby will more than hold their own and will be the stallwarts of the 1st XV in the years to come.

Great performances from Brant Palin (2nd row and wing), Tom Collett (loose head, hooker and tighthead), Victor Amuzu (blindside flanker)and Nigel Johnston (centre)

Special mention to Fillipe Saldanha our flying Portuguese winger who filled in at scrum half after the early departure of debutant scrum half XXX who broke his finger.
