Dear Antlers
On behalf of the club, I’d like to wish you a Happy New Year.
The festive rugby break gives us a chance to refresh and recharge for the 2nd half of the season. As always, it’s been a very busy season so far with all sections of the club being active and competing in their respective leagues, cups and festivals from Minis and Juniors through to Seniors Men and Women. It has been great to see Bushy Park and Udney Park Road so busy.
Unfortunately, in the run up to Christmas we had to respond to several red cards and complaints about both parent and player behaviour on and off the pitch. This has placed the club under an unwelcome spotlight, therefore this is great time of year to remind everyone – players, coaches, managers, spectators, parents etc of the core values of the Teddington RFC and TREDS that are covered in the club codes of conduct.
Club code of conduct
Youth Code of Conduct
Teddington RFC prides itself on its reputation for inclusivity and its reputation with our constituent body Middlesex RFU, and the RFU.
Like the RFU and Middlesex RFU, Teddington RFC totally condemns poor behaviour on and off the field and we will not hesitate to act against those who fail to behave in an acceptable manner, whether that be on the field of play, the touchline or in clubhouses.
In particular, we will not accept: -
• Verbal or physical abuse of match officials, coaches or players - this includes from spectators or players alike
• Uninvited entry on to the field of play
• Serious, pre-meditated foul play
If you are made aware or witness any concerning behaviour, please raise this immediately so that we can work together to address any issues.
Whatever your role with the club it is important that we all adhere to the same high standards and therefore we would encourage everyone as part of their New Year resolutions to actively demonstrate the right behaviours in all things rugby related.
To end on a more positive note, all teams throughout the club are working extremely hard to ensure they are ready for the first whistle of the New Year, and we sincerely thank you for all of your great efforts.
Looking forward to a great 2026 of rugby.
Thank you for your support
James Olsen
