Antlers rack up another half century in front of the TRFC VP’s

It was the annual Vice Presidents day at Teddington RFC on Saturday, as VP’s from across the years gathered for a fantastic lunch and to witness another Antlers victory, as the 1st XV dispatched Kingston to move 15 wins from 15.

Despite the scoreline this wasn’t a vintage Teddington performance, as Kingston provided plucky opposition and made it tough for the league leaders to find any rhythm throughout. But when the Antlers did break the Kingston line, their handling and support play were often sublime and there were plenty of trys to entertain the watching Teddington royalty. The try bonus point was secured in the first half courtesy of Huw MORGAN, Tom WILLLIAMS and double touchdown from Sam RAWSTHORNE. Kingston responded with a try of their own and the Antlers turned around 29-7 to the good. Into the second half and 4 more trys sealed the comfortable victory. Try machine and scrum half Angus BELL matched RAWSTHORNE’s first half haul, whilst a Teddington performance wouldn’t be complete without Max AITKEN and Harry SMITH getting on the scoresheet. Kingston crossed for a try of their own, but it was a mere consolation for the visitors. The Antlers Vice Presidents happily returned to the bar, to trade rugby stories well into the evening; they certainly have a few to tell, but maybe the one that’s unfolding on the pitch this season is one of the clubs finest. Final Score Teddington RFC 57 Kingston RFC 12. Man of the Match Jack VALENTINE.
