Teddington second best at Marlow

Teddington second best at Marlow

Simon Davis6 Feb - 12:16

Bad day at the office for Teddington as they go down to Marlow

Teddington travelled to Marlow last Saturday for round 16 of the Regional 2 Thames league program and despite a promising start, were undone by an impressive Marlow side. The game started well with Alfie RANSOM crossing early on, and although Marlow hit back with a penalty, Teddington extended their lead, when Sam RAWSTHORNE made a blindside break and scored in the corner to give the Antlers a 3-12 lead. From there, things started to take a downward turn. Teddington lost possession in key areas too many times and Marlow scored 4 unanswered trys to go into the break 29-12 ahead, and leaving the visitors a mountain to climb. The game was effectively put to bed after the break with Marlow scoring their fifth try, but Teddingtin showed some spirit as they hit back through a try by George YOUNG and a length of the field intercept by Tom WILLIAMS to secure a try scoring bonus point. Marlow had the final say, scoring a try as Teddington tried to run it out from deep. A day to forget for Teddington, who must now regroup for the visit of Oxford Harlequins on the 14th Feb. Final Score Marlow RFC 47 Teddington RFC 24. Man of the Match Rory MERCER.
