1st XV completely dominate Old Walcountians in biggest win of the season

Not much more can be said that the scoreline doesn’t already say about this game. Teddington travelled to Old Walcountians on Saturday and put in an imperious display, scoring 14 trys, and recording their biggest win of the season. Its never nice to be on the end of a result like this but Old Walcountians continued to tackle and run the ball back at the Antlers right up until the final whistle, which shows a lot of character. For Teddington, they just showed how well drilled a side they have become over the last 12 months, and they have players who are sharp of mind and feet who can cut defences apart when opportunities arise. One of those players, full back Max AITKEN crossed 5 times, taking his try tally for the season to a club record of 26. With 6 league games and a shot at the national cup to come, that record could set an incredibly high bar by the seasons end. Elsewhere there was another hat trick for scrum half Angus BELL, and trys for Rory MERCER, Huw MORGAN, Jack VALENTINE, Chris LIDINGTON, Dan ROBERTSHAW and Callum JOHNSTON. A couple of injuries for the Antlers were the only blot on an otherwise perfect afternoon. Things will no doubt be a lot tougher next weekend when Teddington visit local rivals and second placed Old Tiffinians. Teddington scraped home by a score against Old Tiffs at Bushy Park earlier in the season, and next week is set up to be another cracker. Final Score Old Walcountians RFC 0 Teddington RFC 86.
