Unfortunately we had to cancel our National Cup Game against Camberley as we just didn’t have sufficient numbers. We’ve been a bit unlucky with picking up some injuries. Having said that, it is not the end of our national trophy hopes as we now will drop into the national plate competition.

Every cloud has a silver lining and we were very proud to see 3 of our colts playing in the seniors Development XV against Old Paulines. Although Teddington lost (31-10), Aidan, Sam and Henry all played very well. As our club chairman Gareth Cross put it “There was a glimpse of the next generation of Antlers players in the 2’s squad, we had 3 of our colts players; Aidan Fahey, Sam Lewis and Henry Ellender making their senior rugby debut’s. The boys gave an excellent account of themselves and were a real credit to our youth section. These young players will have no problems slipping in to senior rugby and we hope they are the first of many players to progress from our current Colts squad.”

Fixtures

As we explained at training tonight, we’re juggling between U17, U18 and Colts fixtures. We are in the Herts-Middlesex U17 and Colts divisions, the National Plate, the U18 super sixes and the LV cup. At the moment, we’re realistically only able to field one team for a weekend, but our ethos is to get everyone playing regular matches and getting plenty of match time. We had one new player tonight, but we still need to work on recruitment.

Brian is doing an excellent job with the fixtures which currently look like this:

21/10/2012 Ruislip Away (17 League) – we will take everyone who is able to play and let them have the points. See below for details.
28/10/2012 TBC: Super sixes or friendly colts game against Sutton away.
4/11/2012 Effingham Away (Colts) friendly – we’ll take everyone.
11/11/2012 Hackney Away (Colts League) – first league game so we will take everyone
17/11/2012 Senior Development XV Friendly at home against Dorking 3rds – opportunity for colts participation.
18/11/2012 Finchley Home (U17 League) – we will try and put out a proper U17 team game for this. May be backed up by some U16s.
25/11/2012 Enfield Home (Colts League) – we will play everyone and send them home feeling sorry for themselves!

NB: “Colts” means Everyone.

Action: It would be really good if you could let us know what games you can’t make.

Player Communication

Texting seems to be working. Could the lads let TC know if they can’t make training.

Sunday 21st October

We have an AWAY game against Ruislip. We need all players on parade for this game.

11am kick off is now confirmed on Pitch 2 (the front left pitch as you have the clubhouse behind you). Changing room 4 has been allocated for Teddington. Hot food will be available for all players after the match.

We’ll Meet 9am at Wickes Car Park Twickenham (by Fulwell bus garage / Old Goat).

Action: We need transport so please could you let me know if you are able to drive and how many you can take.
