It's a complicated week. Change of training location and times and we have a game at Grasshoppers.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our Colts head Coach TC who has now also been promoted to the overall club Director of Rugby. It’s great news for the colts as TC has development of our players as central to the club’s overall strategy. Josh Penberthy has also been promoted to captaincy of the Development XV. Good to see “our lads” doing so well elsewhere in the club.

Last Weekend

Talking of our lads, well done to Robin, Aidan, Jonnie and (big) Dan Green for playing for the development XV last weekend. By all accounts the lads did really well and our club Head Coach Ben Pegna was really impressed by the talent coming through.

It was a shame that we only had 14 players available for our planned match against Battersea on the Sunday – we really need to encourage all players to make the commitment to play. We’ll get the games and logistics sorted, but can’t do it without a full complement of players. It was a good workout in Bushy Park instead so well done to all the players who managed to get down to the session.

Socials

We had a baker’s dozen enjoying the parent and coaches social on Tuesday night. It was extremely convivial and nice way to catch-up with everyone. TC and Josh are planning a electronic games evening in the club sometime over the festive period – more news to follow.

Training Friday - 7th December

Because of the recent weather damaging our pitches, this week we will be training on the 3g all-weather, floodlit pitch at Twickenham Academy (ex-Whitton School).

Please be there to start training at 6pm – we’re still hoping to get Big Ferg down for some inspirational coaching.

This weekend – 9th December

It gets complicated, so please read carefully!

To avoid pitch issues in Bushy Park, we’ve pulled in a few favours and managed to book a pitch over at Grasshoppers (just by Gillette corner on A4). It’s costing the club £80 and £2.50 a head for food so we want to get maximum use. We are playing Battersea as this was our planned home fixtures. The director of rugby for Grasshoppers has agreed to referee so best behaviour everyone …. we may want to have this option for the future.

Location: Grasshoppers RFC MacFarlane Lane (Off Syon Lane) Osterley Middlesex TW7 5PN)
Meet: Wicks car park, Twickenham – by Old Goat – at 10:30
Kick-off: 12:30

We need help with transport so please come along and support the lads.
