A solid performance and a satisfying win

On Saturday 31st Aug at Bushy Park our senior men kicked off the 2019/20 season with a pre-season friendly against Weybridge Vandals RFC, a team now playing in a league above us. It was a day which allowed the coaches from both sides to try out new players (and some very old ones!!), to try some new combinations and test out the fitness levels of the players from across both clubs. It certainly was a full on game of rugby, but played in a brilliant spirit. All in all the perfect way to start the season off and we even managed to sneak the win with a try in the final move of the game. It finished 19-17 and everyone retired to the bar satisfied with getting that first game under their belts. We also welcomed our new player coach Ed BOWDEN into the Antlers fold. Ed pulled on an Antlers shirt for the first time after a pre-season of getting to know the players and putting the forwards through their paces.

Next Saturday the 1st XV play another pre-season friendly against London Scottish Lions away at The Rec and the 2nd XV are off on their pre-season tour to Bournemouth, where they play East Dorset RFC.

ALL New players are very welcome to come down and join us at training on a Monday and Wednesday. For further info please contact Rugby Manager Gareth via rugby@teddingtonrfc.co.uk or 07834177467
