Teddington RFC is delighted to welcome former British Lion and Welsh captain legend Sam Warburton to the club on Sunday November 17th. Sam will be presenting the Martin Stockham award to the Juniors section @ 1200. We are delighted that Martin’s family and friends will be joining us for the presentation. As well as the presentation, Sam will be spending time with each of the Mini’s age groups whilst they are training between 11-1200.

Sam made 74 appearances for Wales between 2009-17, captaining the team a record 49 times including at the 2011 Rugby World Cup and the Grand Slam winning side of 2012. He also captained the British Lions for the 2013 tour to Australia and the 2017 tour to New Zealand.

For those you don’t know, Martin Stockham was one our coaches who sadly passed away. The award, in his name, goes to the player in the juniors section who has demonstrated commitment to his team, his club and to the sport of rugby. A fitting tribute to the attitudes that Martin valued so highly in a player.
