Always ahead in the game, the LWT Colts played a controlled game and took their opportunities against a skilful back line and tenacious forward pack. In the warm weather and a hardening pitch, injuries and fatigue were over come by a determination to win. Three first half tries lead to a HT score of 19-7.

The second half was an increasingly fractious affair with discipline proving a critical factor as Cranleigh tried to stage a come back, cheered on by a very vocal set of travelling supporters. However the LWT Colts held out to secure a famous 24-12 win.
