The Colts produced another great display to secure another strong win against a determined Esher team on Sunday. With both teams winning their R1 games in the Quins Cup this was always going to be a tough fixture and that proved to be the case.

After a slightly nervy start to the morning when it looked like we would be short of front row players, the squad showed their flexibility and a new look starting line up took to the pitch. Despite the LWT Colts having the majority of the early possession and territory, Esher made the stronger of starts and scored a converted try to get the scoreboard moving. This sparked the home team into action who then scored 3 tries to build a decent half time lead of 15-7.

With a series of substitutions, the refreshed scrum started to assert its ascendancy and won a number of turnover penalties to ease the pressure from a determined Esher team. The opposition pushed hard and with only a few minutes left to go the score was 21-20 to Esher.
Sensing the clock was against them the LWT Colts secured the ball in the midfield and kicked to the corner with a great 50:22 ensuring they had line out possession. This was duly won and after a number of efforts to cross the white line, the home team won a penalty in front of the posts which was converted to take the lead and ultimately the win 23-21. Well done to the team for their sheer determination and tenacity!

The win leaves the team 2 from 2 and top of the table with the final game of the pool matches against London Irish on Sunday. Good luck!
