We all had an early start for the Rosslyn Park festival, with the added battle of weaving a path through the rowing boats that were on the road for a festival of their own. The gazebo was set up in the middle of a monsoon, and the boys had a quick warm up, which was a challenge considering the cold and wet conditions. After the first two matches, we took the decision that it was unplayable and therefore took the right decision to stop our involvement in the day. With so much rain having fallen from the sky, it felt as if the rowing regatta could have taken place on the rugby pitch.
We regrouped in the clubhouse and after defrosting by the radiator and drinking cups of hot chocolate, the team spirit had returned and we all benefited from an early finish.
