A very well organised B's event.
Game 1 - Teddington V's Gulidford
Facing a very strong Guildford side, Teddington started very strongly. First half the game was a stalemate with Teddington front 5 dominating the opposition providing good ball for our back to run with. No breakdown's were lost or scrums with some huge hits going in from Owen and George with strong running from Jamie, Oscar and Jake. Second half was equally as tight with Connor making some clever decisions both with hands and feet. In the end forward power and superb back play ensured Teddington started well with a deserved win. Win 1-0
Game 2 - Teddington V's Weybridge
A dominating win once again from all members of a rampant Teddington team. Pace and direct running from the power house centres of Ethan (volunteered to play in the backs!) and Alfie (skipper for the day) provided too many problems for a large Weybridge team. Finished off by the art and craft of Matthew and Archie on the wings as well as some punching runs from Will the full back Teddington again too strong for a well drilled side. Ben at scrum half finishing off nicely in the corner. Win 4 -0
Game 3 - Teddington V's Ealing
A carbon copy of the game above - Teddington too strong for our forwards running with ball in hand with Ben Wix all over the park. Great ball delivery for the backs and clinical team play blew Ealing away. Win 6 - 0
Game 4 - Semi Final Teddington V's Esher
A tough game where the boys tried to over engineer the game and look to win individually. Strong words at half time from Buster ensured we reverted back to simple, direct team play and a rampage from Oscar through the middle of the park sealed the victory. Win 2 - 0
Game 5 Final Teddington V's Rosslyn Park
Against very good opposition a fiercebattle up front continued into the final. All boys putting all their hearts on the line seeking the perfect outcome. A mistake in the first half resulted in Teddington being down by 1 at half time. Team again rallied well in the second half but with 2 of our players down RP made their advantage tell and scored a second. From then on Teddington had them pinned in their half until the final whistle. An even game, which the scoreline did not represent. Lost 2 - 0
Conclusion
A great festival for the B team. Buster had his boys playing I think the best and most complete rugby by every single member of the squad I have seen this year. To reach the final without conceding, and playing in the manner they did, should have all parents immensely proud of their children. It prepares us well for London Irish in 2 weeks!
Well done all
