This season Teddington, for the first time in the 28-year history of its ladies section, fielded a second/development team for the first time.

After five games in the Griffin Cup, they are through to the final!

Teddington Development will take on Hampstead’s second team on Sunday, April 19 at Finchley RFC, KO 14.30.

The Griffin Cup was devised in response to the needs of the many emerging women’s teams across Middlesex and is contested by clubs at National Challenge 2 and below, including those clubs not yet entered in a league.
The competition is named in recognition of the services to the women’s game by Deborah Griffin OBE, a founding member of the Rugby Football Union for Women in 1984 and captain of the first English club team at Finchley RFC
Captained by Toni Kershaw, the Teddington Development team has given an opportunity to no fewer than eight players to make their debut for Antlers,  with four of those playing their first ever games of rugby – including three Mums taking up rugby for the first time!

Huge congratulations are due to the ladies who will partake in the final. See you there!
