Going in the right direction

This was another chance for Head coach Paul Manley and assistant Charlie Walker to put the pre season training into practice for Teddington, this time at our nearest neighbour Old Paulines across the river in Thames Ditton. With some new combinations, some new plays and new players it was always going to be difficult to get it 100%, but the team in general did loads of things right. The defence was well organised and unforgiving as the score reflects and the fitness was pretty good too.

Our major weakness seemed to be the vast amounts of penalties we gave away at the breakdown and a number of unforced handling errors. These are things that will be worked on in our remaining friendly next Saturday and two weeks of training, before the league campaign kicks off on Sat 19th Sept at home to Old Tonbridgians.
