Teddington go down to Old Amplefordians in opening league encounter

A spirited late fightback wasn't enough as Teddington finished empty handed in the first league game of the season at a sunny Bushy Park on Saturday.

Quick tries by the visitors after the break put Old Amplefordians 22-0 up which was ultimately enough to secure the points. Teddington hit back with late tries by Dan ROBERTSHAW and Chris LIDDINGTON which ensured an exciting finish, but time ran out for the hosts. Final Score Teddington 14 Old Amplefordians 22

The 2nd XV travelled to Chipstead for their opening league game. Injuries were cruel to the Antlers, and the boys were reduced to playing with 13 men but never gave up the fight. Jono VENTER and Jasper GIBB scored our tries. Final Score Chipstead 27 Teddington 12.

Congratulations to Old Amplefordians and Chipstead on their wins. Teddington get back to the training pitch this week as they look for their first league wins at the weekend.

Senior Mens Training every Thursday @ 7.30pm, Udney Park Road Playing Fields, Teddington.
