At last years Minis end of season Pool Party members of the club donated a large number of rugby boots, trainers and money to the Conversion charity organised by Shrewsbury School.

These rugby boots and trainers arrived in Laos and made their way to coaches of the Laos Rugby Federation. If you haven't watched the video please do so below.

Teddington RFC is once again pleased to support Conversion, an initiative to assist Lao Rugby in youth rugby development. The program also sponsored by Shrewsbury House School provides opportunities for over 2,000 girls and boys (it’s a 50/50 split) to get involved in a team sport and provides integrated life-skills focusing on numeracy, literacy, leadership skills and positive attitudes towards gender equality.

At present most of the kids play in flip-flops or bare feet making them vulnerable to injuries, so a pair of gently-used sports shoes would be most welcome. Collection bins will be provided at the Pool Party so please bring along any clean but unwanted sports shoes. A voluntary £2.50 donation is also kindly requested to cover shipping.

Giving such basic but important equipment will go a long way in helping Lao Rugby and the lives of its young players. The pool party this year is on Saturday 6th May so start collecting now and save the date.
