About our fundraising
|
The current Bushy Park clubhouse has been home to Teddington Rugby Club and Teddington Town Cricket Club for nearly four decades, having once been destroyed by fire in 1972 and then rebuilt, and throughout that time looking after the thousands of local players which have passed through its doors. However, 38 years of studded boots and mud has taken its toll and the building is well overdue a makeover. Rugby Club Chairman, Gareth Cross, commented: “Our much loved clubhouse has many some stories to tell, however with a growing membership and more successes on the field, it is time for Teddington Rugby Club to look at providing a more suitable building, one we can be proud of and that can adapt and grow with us as we go forward. “We have managed to secure some funding for our new home, however we still have a huge mountain to climb with a further GBP150,000 to raise. To help achieve this the Club is planning various fundraising events, such as a Race Night, a 5K run in Bushy Park, a Wall of Friends scheme, for people to buy a brick and be able to see their contribution in the building itself , and an end of season Gala Dinner, which will have a fundraising theme running through it. |
