Another Teddington Player graces the International stage (Read more) PDF Print E-mail

James Lightfoot-Brown

James Lightfoot Brown of the current Under 17 age group played his first three international matches for Scotland U17 at the inaugral Wellington International Festival. Starting at 15 in the showcase game against England , helping Scotland to beat England" A" by 7-5. Coming off the bench in the second game on Tuesday against France" A ", James helped turn the deficit of 9 points to a 10-9 lead only to see France nick it in the last ten minutes . The last game was against Canada on Friday 9th April,in which James' bagged two tries in a comprehensive victory.

James started at Teddington as a 5 year old  and is a dedicated member of the Under 17 squad training on a regular basis. He is also in the London Irish apprentice scheme (AASE) at StPauls Catholic College in Sunbury having moved there from Teddington School.

James made his way into the Scotland pathway by virtue of his Scottish Grandfather George Brown and progressed from training sessions with the Scottish Exiles run quarterly in Richmond. Players can join the Exiles from U14 if they have a Scottish grandparent or parent. Please see the Scotland website for details.
